Learning naturally through play, curiosity, and real experiences
At Odds Farm Park Day Nursery, rated Good by Ofsted, we believe children learn best when they are engaged, curious, and enjoying what they do. Whether that's exploring outdoors, meeting the animals, or enjoying a healthy lunch, we follow the same early years educational approach.
Called 'Planning in the Moment', our approach allows our team to build on what your child is already interested in. Rather than directing learning through fixed activities, we observe, listen, and respond — turning everyday moments into meaningful learning opportunities. This means your child isn't just taking part in activities, they are actively shaping their own learning, building confidence, independence, and a genuine love of discovery.
Through this play-based, child-led approach, children develop the key skills they need for school without even realising it. Communication, early maths, confidence, focus, and social skills are all built naturally through play, helping children feel prepared, capable, and excited for their next step into school.
Our Baby Room provides a calm, nurturing environment where your child can feel safe, secure, and truly at home from their very first days with us. We know how important this stage is for both babies and parents, which is why we focus on building strong bonds, supporting gentle settling, and giving you regular reassurance that your child is happy and thriving.
Through sensory-rich experiences using movement, sound, colour, and touch, babies are encouraged to explore the world around them, build early confidence, and begin developing key communication skills. With access to their own free-flow garden and gentle, age-appropriate visits to Odds Farm Park, children benefit from real-life experiences with nature and animals that support curiosity and early development in a truly unique way.
We follow a ‘Planning in the Moment’ approach, allowing our team to respond to your child’s interests as they happen - turning everyday play into meaningful learning experiences. At the same time, we work closely with you to mirror your home routines, ensuring consistency in feeding, sleep, and care, helping your child feel settled and secure.
Your child will be supported by a caring, experienced team, with regular updates from their key person so you always feel connected to their day. Daily fees include formula milk prepared by trained staff, and as your child grows, fresh, healthy meals to support their development.
As they become more confident and independent, your child will naturally progress through our rooms, from Baby Room to Toddlers and beyond, building the skills they need as they prepare for school.

Our Toddler Room is where growing independence, confidence, and communication really begin to flourish. At this stage, children are learning to express themselves, build friendships, and explore the world around them and we’re here to support every step of that journey in a safe, nurturing environment.
Through a wide range of hands-on, play-based experiences, toddlers develop key skills in language, early maths, creativity, and social interaction. From music and movement to storytelling and imaginative play, each day is designed to engage curious minds and encourage children to try new things, build confidence, and learn alongside others.
Using our ‘Planning in the Moment’ approach, our team follows your child’s interests as they happen, turning everyday play into meaningful learning opportunities that support their development naturally. We also work closely with you to maintain consistency between home and nursery, including support with routines such as potty training, helping your child feel secure and settled.
With regular access to Odds Farm Park, toddlers enjoy unique outdoor experiences, from meeting animals to exploring nature and adventure play areas. These real-life experiences encourage curiosity, communication, and confidence in a way that simply can’t be replicated indoors.
Your child will be supported by a caring team who keep you regularly updated, so you always feel reassured about their progress and wellbeing. As they grow in confidence and independence, they will be ready to transition into our Pre-School rooms, continuing their journey towards school readiness.
Our Pre-School, known as Mini Farmers, is a truly special stage in your child’s journey. The final years before school where confidence grows, personalities shine, and children begin to discover who they are. Parents choose us because they want more than school readiness; they want their child to feel confident, capable, and excited for what comes next.
Set within our unique farm environment, children learn through real, hands-on experiences that simply can’t be replicated indoors. From caring for animals and exploring nature to working together on meaningful tasks, children develop independence, resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, all while building strong friendships and a genuine love of learning.
Guided by our experienced practitioners and the Early Years Foundation Stage, we prepare children for school in a way that feels natural and engaging. Through our ‘Planning in the Moment’ approach, we follow each child’s interests, turning everyday experiences into rich learning opportunities that support communication, curiosity, and confidence.
Whether they’re feeding animals, planting vegetables, or exploring how things work on the farm, every experience helps children build real-world understanding and a strong sense of self, giving them the skills and confidence they need to thrive as they move on to school.
Throughout their time with us, we keep you closely connected with regular updates, so you feel reassured and proud of the progress your child is making. And when it’s time to say goodbye, we celebrate this important milestone together with a special graduation—marking not just the move to school, but everything your child has achieved along the way..
